How to Install Fonts into Windows 95/98 & XP.

Installing Fonts for Win 95/98

  • Download the font into a folder or desktop on your computer.

  • Fonts are often downloaded in zip files so you need to unzip the file with Winzip

  • Go to the Start Menu, choose Settings then Control Panel.

  • Open the Fonts folder.

  • Under the File menu select "Install New Font."

  • A new window opens then find the folder with your font in and click OK.


    Installing Fonts for Windows XP

    Zipped Font

  • Download the font into a folder or desktop on your computer.

  • Use Winzip to extract the font from the file.

  • Extract the font into c:\windows\fonts

  • Go to the Start Menu, choose Control Panel.

  • Double click the Fonts folder.

    Unzipped Font

  • Save the font to c:\windows\fonts

  • Go to the Start Menu, choose Control Panel.

  • Double click the Fonts folder.
