.......Due to its efficient work for more than ten years, Quantum has become one of the leading schools in the Republic. It is not merely an educational institution but also a scientific centre of pedagogy. According to the progressive teaching technologies having been developed here, the College has attained a great success in educating and teaching students as well as providing their perspective education. Not by chance, every year more than 90% of 110-115 graduates are admitted to higher schools from the first.
There are about 400 students in 30 classes of the College.
The curricula of the College junior high forms (5 to 8) don't differ from those of state secondary schools. Special emphasis here is providing students with thorough education.
In the high forms (9 and 10), teaching is conducted by bias, such as directions of physics and mathematics, chemistry and biology, liberal arts, and economy. In addition to traditional subjects, other disciplines like History of Arts, Financial Mathematics, Oratory, and Human Rights are taught at College.
Teaching Informatics and inculcation of information technologies are emphasized at the College. Informatics is profoundly taught in all forms of Quantum.
The College's highest managing body is the Scientific and Pedagogical Council, which includes Headmaster, Deputy Headmasters and Heads of Chairs. The teachers' methodological and pedagogical activities are guided by the corresponding chairs.
About 70 teachers work at Quantum, and most of them are candidates and doctors of science.
At Olympiads, the success is outstanding, too. Since the academic year of 1997-98, Quantum has been keeping its leading positions at City Olympiads. The same can be said about the success at Republican Olympiads, especially in the academic year of 2000-2001 when the College students won 36 diplomas on 10 subjects. That was 20% of the whole award stock. Due to this accomplishment, the Quantum College was conferred on with the peculiar Diploma and Grand Prix of the Yerevan City Hall, with the Ministry of Education and Science Diploma and with Certificate of Merit and Special Prize of the RA Prime Minister. Also, Quantum students have been a success at International Contests. Five of them have been included into the Republican combined team on different subjects (chemistry, informatics, astronomy), and diplomas have been conferred on four of them.
Not long ago, the results of the Yerevan City Olympiad for the 2001-2002 academic year students were summed up. Again, Quantum's participation was excellent and our students were acknowledged winners for the fifth time.
Quantum closely cooperates with about 30 schools of all marzes in Armenia. Teachers interested in new subjects and new teaching technologies come here for improvement and exchange of their work experience.
Quantum's cooperation with international donor organizations is efficient, especially in the field of inculcation of new subjects and new teaching technologies.
The College has collaboration relationship with the Institute of New Teaching Technologies, Teacher Training Institute, New School Educational Centre, UNESCO Institute of Information Technologies in Education (all these institutions being in Moscow), as well as with a number of governmental and private schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the USA.
Quantum is the first educational establishment in the Republic to bring socio-psychological service in the schooling sphere, due to which the teaching and educational activities of the College have improved to a significant degree.
Necessary attention is paid in Quantum to the process of the students' physical, military and patriotic education. Our college is the first school in the Republic that since 1999 has been delivering the lessons of Primary Military Practice in a summer military and sports centre as training classes.
For the purpose of finding out gifted children and sponsoring their further education, college Quantum, since 1996, together with Yerevan State University and Educational Board of the Yerevan City Hall, has been organizing a special competition, as a result of which every year 10 to 20 students of the 6th and 7th forms enter the College to be educated free of charge.
The success of Quantum is quite natural. It is obviously caused by the correct organization of the business. From the outset, such a system was established that all its elements should have to work properly. The teacher - student - parent - administration relations are perfected, each of them is aware of his/her rights, obligations, and commitment. Hence, both the teachers and the students are protected within the bounds of the College rules. This allows comparing Quantum with a small Republic, in which the priority is the Law.
