The SMART HOME System

SMART HOME is a complete enabling system that provides the common resources needed for home automation in a multiproduct, multivendor environment a system controller, a housewide wiring network, communications protocols, standard interfaces for connecting other products, and basic user controls.

These controls include programmable wall switches, a control panel, and a DTMF telephone. Providing complete home automation functionality depends on the addition of other products, such as more complex user controls, home appliances, and application-specific controllers.
