Axial flaps in surgical treatment of the patients with burns

The previously used tactic of III-IV level limited deep burns treatment, that is stage by stage necrectomy, osteonecrectomy, prepairing to wound closure with free skin transplantation, is not rational in the aspect of present medicine.

The aim of this work is revealing the indications to the use of complex axial flaps in surgical treatment of the burn patients.

Material and methods.

Since 1986 till 2000, at Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery & Microsurgery University Center we had 36 patients with burn wounds and postburn scars, which underwent to defect plastic operations with 39 axials flaps.
