From time immemorial a favourite occupation, and why not, a means of material security of the Armenian woman has been and till now is needlework. Taking into account this circumstance, this kind of applied art has become more popular in recent years.
I began needlework ofter the terrible carthquake of 1988, to get relieved of stress and emotional excitations. Soon I started with labor - consuming table - clothes with hem - stitch and drawn - thread technique. Then I learned and became keen on the Armenian lace and other kinds of national needlework. During the energy crisis in Armenia one ought to pass the endless dark winter nights with a candle near the stove. And here I got mad with needlework by cross. At the beginning I worked on available models, but then I myself began to create schemes from pictures.
At present I conduct a course of applied decorative needlework at the gymnasium #1 in the city of Vanadzor, Republic of Armenia.
